A Tribute To Joe

In 1972 Joe McHenry and Tom Smith organized Hobie Cat Fleet # 85 with the first few catamarans in the Columbus area.  Early 1974  before Alum Creek Lake was open to the public they moved to Alum as their new home port. Then they helped Joe Demarchi (Dave's father) open up his mast up storage lot by assisting AEP in moving all power lines across the road.

Joe McHenry gave nearly everything he had to ACSA in its growing years as he sponsored nearly all the activities.

Read a tribute to Joe by clicking on the link below. There are some images submitted to us by Rosalie as well. Also - a permanent link in the "Features" section to the right has been added.

A note from the Commodore

Commodore Flag The Alum Creek Sailing Association (ACSA) was formed in 1982 to promote the sport of sailing. We hope this web site will help in that goal. The Alum Creek Sailing Association consists of sailing families, individual sailors and sailing enthusiasts. We operate from a 135 slip marina located on Alum Creek. If you are a sailor with or without a boat, you are sure to enjoy the fellowship of our club.

I would like to invite you to attend one of our meetings. They are held monthly on the first Monday of the month (unless a holiday), starting at 7:00 pm. Join Us!

Pay Online

ACSA is adding the ability to pay fees to the website. We do incur a service charge for this and it will be passed on. To pay your dock fee online, click here.
