Tall Ship Experience
We have made arrangements for our first "Away Sail". It is a Windjammer Cruise in the Great Lakes area. I have arranged for a special package on the Good Ship "Manitou" out of Traverse City, Michigan. The Manitou is a 110-foot gaff-rigged schooner built as a replica of the schooners that sailed the Great Lakes in the 1860s.
During the month of September, they do a series of 4-day windjammer cruises. I can attest that it is a fine cruise for I have been on it a couple of times. They cruise the bay and Lake Michigan, depending on the winds. (We have heard that before}
Attached is a picture collage of the schooner and descriptive data about the boat and cruise details. The prices are also in data. They have cabins available for the following dates:
- Cruise #1 on September 22 thru 25
- Cruise #2 on September 29 thru October 2
Mention the ASCA group and you will receive a 10% discount and they are holding group of cabins open to give us time to get a group together for one cruise or two smaller groups for both cruises. That will only last a couple of weeks. It is important that you contact them directly to place a deposit of 50% of the fee. Their website is:

This is a quality deal. You can crew or just chill out an enjoy the experience. The crew is a quality and qualified team. The excursions off the boat are really fun and the food is fantastic.
