ACSA
calls Alum Creek Lake, just North of the
Columbus area its home. Our club consists
of sailing families and individuals from both mono-hull, catamaran, and
tri-hull fleets. Our members come from a wide range of professions and ages and
even consist of some non-sailboat owners who join for the social events,
fellowship, and to serve as crew on race days.
The club offers sailing lessons to the public as well as private groups.
Lessons are given on keelboats between 22 and 26ft in length, and are geared towards
novice as well as the more advanced sailor. A number of our instructors are US Sailing
certified keelboat instructors, so you can be sure that the education you receive through ACSA
can be built on by taking other US Sailing classes.
We operate from a 135 slip sailboats only marina located
on old Lewis Center Rd. The facility is located
in the boater's cove just North of the Alum Creek beach. The marina was
built with private funding and serves to further the interests of sailing in
the central Ohio area.
Our Wednesday Night Series Regattas are very popular and
draw 18-20 boats each Wednesday evening for a relaxed, three mile race around
the buoys. The race begins at about 6:30PM. If anyone would like to crew, show
up around 5:30PM and start asking for short-handed boats. We guarantee you will
get a ride!
We invite you to attend one of our monthly meetings. They
are held on the first Monday of the month (unless a holiday) at 7:30 pm. Our next meeting will be held at
Little Bear Golf Club, Lewis Center, OH.
