Old Fox 2008!
With the Old Fox Regatta and Halloween party only a few days away, all the pups are scurrying around to make it a memorable one. The weekend's activities will include some good fun racing with five fleets: Catalina 22, O'Day daysailers, Mulithulls, PHRF A and PHRF B. Your Vice Commodore, Jim Miles, has promised a top notch race committee to run the regatta.

With 2200 square feet under cover, the party should be comfortable for an afternoon and evening of activities. Melanie Ross and crew have been working hard to provide you with a fun slate, starting with the OSU game at 3:30 kick-off for those not still on the race course. There will be the annual chili cook-off, so bring your best recipe. If you don't have a favorite chili recipe how about a favorite desert? Maybe we can find a prize for the best desert also, what do you say, Mel? I'm told the dinner is pot luck, so bring a dish to share and come enjoy. Hot dogs will be provided. I'm getting hungry already. Let Melanie know what you'll be bringing so she can plan accordingly.

Luckily there will be dancing to work off the feast with live 60-90's Rock and Metal music...Beatles to Metallica...Aerosmith, Nazerath, Nugent, Zeplin...etc. The Trustees and members band will be rocking Saturday night in the Old Fox Den. And - If that is not enough activity for you, Sunday will be another day of racing.

Donations will be accepted to help cover expenses. Debbie Dean will have the Old Fox Tee shirts available. She has a few extra as well as for all those that have ordered. $15 for short sleeve and $18 for long sleeve.

Beverage tickets will be available for a donation of $2.00 each or six for $10.00 . They may be redeemed for the beverage of choice. Coolers are not permitted in the confines of the Old Fox Den.

A note from the Commodore

Commodore, Jim Foreman The Alum Creek Sailing Association (ACSA) was formed in 1982 to promote the sport of sailing. We hope this web site will help in that goal. The Alum Creek Sailing Association consists of sailing families, individual sailors and sailing enthusiasts. We operate from a 135 slip marina located on Alum Creek. If you are a sailor with or without a boat, you are sure to enjoy the fellowship of our club. See map for the park's location.

I would like to invite you to attend one of our meetings. They are held monthly on the first Monday of the month (unless a holiday), starting at 7:30 pm. Our next meeting will be held at the Worthington Hills Country Club - Christmas Party.

The future of ACSA!
At the April 2007 general meeting, then Commodore Kathy Younker presented a slideshow discussing what the club EC has accomplished to that point, and our plans for the future. If you'd like to see a condensed version of this excellent presentation,  Click here...
